      A Practice or a Competition?

      Each time you are in your Dhanurasana(Standing Bow), do you compare yourself with the person beside you or the person ahead of you? Do you have the urge to kick higher or hold the pose longer than the person next to you? Or do you even compare today's practice to the practice yesterday or the one last week?

      The Power of Yoga

      I found yoga during my university years. Overwhelmed with exams, papers, projects, relationships, and an active participation in a student association, yoga became my soul food. A minute into my first asana, child’s pose, Balasana, I instantly knew that I have came to the right place and ever since, whether it is a home practice, or practicing in a studio, I cannot go a day without practicing.

      Being Present

      As I observe my 3 years old, Shih Tzu, Kobe, playing with his toys, he is exactly we what call "being present". Kobe focuses on nothing else but on making more noise with his squeaky toy. When we live in the present, we have a true connection to what arises and falls, flucturates, and changes. So, it brings up the question, " Are we present during class as a teacher and/or student?".
