Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

What is your first thought when you open the door to the yoga studio? Is it something like, “I hope I can make it through the class today – I am so tired.” OR, is your thought more like, “I am really looking forward to this class today!”
That first thought is resisting. The second thought is allowing.

During the class, while you are in the poses…are you allowing or resisting? Are you being gentle with yourself, and easing off a bit if you feel pain, understanding what your body is telling you? Or, are you pushing yourself to the point of pain or strain, groaning in discomfort?
Are you allowing the heat around you to enter and heal? Or are you complaining that it’s too hot?
There are so many opportunities during your yoga practice to allow, say yes, be gentle and even smile!

You are practicing yoga for peace, not for suffering.

When you start to allow everything that is going on during your yoga class, and take each moment to observe and allow what is happening, you will find the experience of yoga even more enjoyable, and you will look forward to each pose and each class.
Then, you will notice that using this technique of allowing during yoga will spill over into your everyday life.
You will find more allowing in every moment, situation, relationship and experience. This allowing instead of resisting will guide you into the gentle flow of life where you will discover more peace, harmony, balance, and happiness every day.

Start allowing and notice more happiness will be yours.

      Happy allowing,
      Andrea
