Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

      Are you having fun?

It has always been my belief that yoga is supposed to be FUN, yet as a teacher, when I look around during a yoga class, I notice that many students look very serious.

My intention is to make my classes challenging yet fun. This is why quite often in my class, right after a challenging posture, you will hear me ask in my cheekiest voice "How are you doing, Are you having fun or How’s it going kidz?"

Often when I practice next to my friends, when we are in a challenging posture, I will either poke at them to make them fall out or they will look at me and smile. (Please do not try this at home, professional stunt yogis and yoginis only ;-)

Next time you are in class, drop all your concerns, smile and just have fun. You may notice that your body relaxes, and the posture becomes easier. Try winking at the person next to you with the cheekiest smile you can master I assure you they will either give you a "HUH???" look or they will smile back.
