Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

I had a cinnamon bun this morning. A big 5 pound stacked with icing and blueberries fat cinnamon bun. If I did hot yoga every day, but ate big fat cinnamon buns every day...then I would acquire even fatter buns of my own. Lucky this indulgence is only once per week.
If you go to hot yoga - you have the potential to burn up to 800 calories per class!!! Sweet! Depending who you are, maybe even 1000!
BUT - Big BUTT - if your eating habits are still eating fattening garbage, do you really think you will lose weight? Ummm - right.
You have to eat less to lose weight. It is not even a big secret diet. It is just eat less.
Try doing 1 week of hot yoga every day, and just eat a bit less of what you usually eat. By the end of that week, you will feel slimmer, guaranteed. Unless you have a specific medical condition.
If you have been coming for a year, practicing 4 times a week and have not slimmed down, well yogi - it is time to eat less.
It does not matter what you weigh, it is how you look and feel. The scale does not separate muscle from fat.
Hot yoga will shift your body and move things to the right place, and in a few weeks of cutting out some food, it will happen.
If you already eat healthy and the right amount of calories, well then - you are in hot yoga to maintain your hot body. Just there for a tune up.
So if you are looking to sweat off some poundage, then just eat less poundage, and then your body will shift sizzle everything to smoothness and delight!
Then you can have that juicy 5 pound cinnamon bun ONCE a week and enjoy that sweetness.
Or whatever your juicy pleasure may be.
Peace
Andrea
