Balanced on the biggest wave.

So, you take your hot yoga classes, you also work your butt off, you like to spend time with your peeps or special person, you have big goals and a vision. BUT - You are not getting enough sleep, you eat crap food, you don't stop to breathe, you aren't getting fresh air and you just told the car in front of you to F off in a fit of rage. Does this sound like BALANCE to you?
I wil tell you a little secret. I do not have balance right now. I just finished my 60 days of yoga, but I was also teaching almost every day as well. That is a lot of heat man. The sleep thing...For some reason I wake up really freakin early when I don't have to, and I am having some kind of crazy freak allergy symptoms that are making my nerves go "ARRGHHHH" and I have to take allergy pills - which is never good, because how the heck do I know if I am ingesting rat pee or some other chemical delight?
Sometimes when I get off work really late, I am hungry so I will eat late, and we all know that is never a great thing to do.
And what the heck is up with my addiction to coffee every morning with 2 sugars and the chocolate chip muffin to go with it?
Come on now.
This is not balance.
Are you trying a balancing act yourself?
Are you trying to "Make it all happen??"
How is that going for you?
Balance sure gets thrown off easily, right?
So what are we going to do to get back on that highest wave and stand proud staring up at the sun while all of the balls we are juggling float nicely around our heads?
Here are some tips to stay BALANCED -
- Today stop what you are doing...be alone for 1 hour in nature -outside, and decide what your top 5 priorities are for this month. Then make the list. By the way - this alone in nature time is a nice priority to have if you can put yourself first!
- Look over the list and decide if these top 5 are truly important to you, and will benefit you and those around you in a balanced, healthy way.
- If these top 5 are unhealthy and feel out of whack, toss em and make new ones that are healthy and balanced.
- Eat healthy food - make the right choices for FUEL. Eat to live, not live to eat. - (How the heck will I do this one?)
- Take a nice sleep over a workout sometimes. Lose the guilt.
- Laugh with people you love.
- Get outside every day and breathe.
Enjoy this moment.
The more out of balance you get, the more you will be running around like a frazzled chicken with your head cut off, and how the heck will you enjoy your life?
Time to balance it all out.
I will try my best. I have just got some new wax for my surfboard and I will attempt to stay on the wave.
My first mission -
Drop the coffee and muffin. That is my first step. It does not help me balance. - I will let you know how it goes. I will start tomorrow:)
