Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

When I teach my classes, I start the class by saying "Everyone please HONOUR your body". Because, really, Yoga is all about honouring yourself, your body, and your spirit. It seems that everyone wants to be the "Yoga star", pushing your body beyond your limit as if you are in a competition to win a medal. This is not the case in yoga. You should really FEEL the yoga to win the prize. You should be AWARE of your body, your breath, and yourself in yoga to be the true ROCKING YOGI! If you are new to the yoga, be patient in your progress, you don't have to LOOK like the students around you to get the benefits of the yoga. Start to practice consistantly, pacing yourself, every class should feel different. The progress of YOUR yoga is really where it's at...It's NOT about kicking further, bending further, holding longer than anyone else...FEEL your yoga. FEEL your breath. Feel your body. Please HONOUR your body, YOUR practice and you will win the "medal" that come from within.
      Namaste.:)
