Some like it hot...
Who would’ve thought that 6 years later I still can't seem to get enough of it. Hot yoga... you want to work up a sweat? Try going to a hot yoga class and the minutes of anticipation of class already gets you going. If you like tropical places but can't afford to escape; going to a 60, 75 or 90 minute adventure in the yoga room will take you there. Westcoast has provided the hot room and great instructors that keep me coming back. There are three types of classes but feels like so many more with the variety of styles each instructor shares differently with us in each class.
When I first thought of yoga, the first thing that came to mind was falling asleep in 'meditation'; but after experiencing Westcoast - the heat, the detoxifying, the exercise and the healing all in one class, sure gives the mind and body a workout, and so much more.
90 minute Hot is a great 'Bikram' style class with the 26 postures without the Sergeant Major approach. I surprisingly found this to be the best class to start with being a newbie. Then they have 75 minute Flow - umm can you say abs of steel? I have yet to compare any core strength workout to this core class. And if you really want to throw in a mix; 1 hour Hot offers the best of both the Flow and 90 minute Hot postures; best class when you're on the go. AND last but certainly not least - 75 YIN; by testament this is by far a great après Grouse Grind class to do; or simply if you really want to get in some good stretches...
