      Nutritional Tip: Importance of Calcium

      It amazes me how many people I meet who aren’t getting enough Calcium in their diet. Calcium is a very important part of a healthy diet for maintenance of healthy bones and teeth, and prevention of osteoporosis. Our bodies need calcium whether we supply them with it or not. Unfortunately, if we don’t get enough, our bodies take calcium from the next best source – our bones, which we can not restore and can result in osteoporosis later in life. Post-menopausal women are at a higher risk for developing osteoporosis as their estrogen levels decrease.
