Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

Should you "Just DO IT?"

I don't feel like going to hot yoga class today. But I will, because I know how much better I will feel when I'm done. There are a lot of things I don't feel like doing sometimes. I don't feel like smiling and being social all the time, but I know it will make me feel better when I am done. So, should you just DO IT...when you don't feel like it?
Yes.
How annoying.
Here are some things you don't want to do sometimes, but you would feel much better when you are done.
Forgiving someone, or forgiving yourself.
Eating something really healthy that tastes gross.
Smiling at someone when you feel like crap on the inside.
Being kind to someone when you feel like ripping your (or their) eyeballs out.
Exercising.
Going to Hot yoga.
Telling the truth to someone, or yourself.
Doing a good deed.
BEING KIND TO SOMEONE EVEN IF YOU DON'T "LIKE" THEM.
Going to the dentist.
Paying your bills first before buying that book you won't read for a few months, or that meal out that you could wait and have 2 months from now.
Taking a breath before reacting.
Admitting that you are "wrong" and you could do things a different way.
Being the "bigger" person.
Extending your grace to someone, and then to someone else.
Extending kindness to someone you don't usually extend to, like the cashier, the attendent, the construction workers.
Breaking out of familiar patterns and habits.
Doing the right thing.
Living it right. (You know how)
Well - I'm not saying it's easy. In fact - it's a pain in the ass.
BUT -
Will you feel better after it's done?
Darn tootin you will.
Just DO IT
Peace
Andrea
