The common cold. It's always lurking around the corner. (That darn lurker) It plants a little cold bug in your nostril, and it waits. It waits for you to screw up your healthy lifestyle. It just takes one night of debauchery to mess up your plan.

The cold bug plants itself in you - and WAITS for you to mess up your healthy plan.
If you are healthy, and stay that way -
      (You know what that means)
The cold bug will back off.

BUT - if it picks you, and you step off that track of health...
It will EXPLODE through your body, because it's trying to tell you something!

      Here is a hypothetical ( :) ) situation:

You decide to go off the track of health. You eat the wrong food - (Really wrong) You drink the darn yummy alcoholic bevys because it's your birthday and you are celebrating...(Or any other reason for drinking) You even sneak in an energy drink filled with sugar and supposed "natural" herbs to keep you going. (This is all hypothetical by the way) :)

Then you decide to keep this freakin party pumping till 5:30 a.m. - 6 in the morning, and you didn't just celebrate your 21st bday - in fact that was many, many moons ago.
      (Arrghhh)

Then, you miss a few more hours sleep that night, and the next - and you miss your workout and your hot yoga class - and then

      BOOM!

That nasty little lurker bug that was in your nostril EXPLODES through your immune system and decides to have it's own party and move into your body for a week.

      Nice.

      WAS IT WORTH IT?

      Ummm...No.

Not for the hypothetical person in the story.

      Here's what happens -

IF YOU ARE HEALTHY AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
(And you know what that means)

The lurker bug may be planted in your nose - but it won't explode. It will move on. Your immune system will DESTROY it.

But, if there is one day, one night where you
      - Miss lots of sleep
      - Eat unhealthy
      - Wear down your immune system in any way -

YOUR BODY WILL EXPLODE because it's trying to tell you something.
It wants you to take care of yourself.

      So, thanks lurker bug.

      Thanks body.

You sure told me, you little bugger.

I will be more careful next time.

      THE SOLUTION:

If you are around anyone with a cold - take extra good care of yourself, and it will not effect you.
It will move on to someone else that slips off the health track.

      As for me,

I would much rather be in great health and enjoy these last few weeks of summer. So, I'm back to taking it easy spending my nights with a cup of herbal iced tea and a book under the oak tree of peace.

Till my next "b-day" comes up.

      Hee hee

      Peace
      Andrea
