Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

So which of these yoga students are you? One of the yoga students practicing in your yoga class is...
- Thinking they are too fat.
- Thinking they look and feel great.
- Is so in love with someone they can't stop seeing that persons face in the butt of the person in front of them.
- Thinking of dying.
- Is worried about money.
- Is crying.
- Is having the best yoga practice of their life.
- Is wondering what they will have to eat after class.
- Is wishing they didn't eat so much before class!
- Has a song they can't get out of their freakin' head while in every yoga pose!
- Can't wait for the class to be over.
- Can not believe how fast the class is whizzing by.
- Is thinking about leaving the room.
- Is wondering why they smell so bad today.
- Is wondering why the person next to them smells so freakin bad.
- Is really annoyed with the teacher.
- Wants to yell "Shut up!" to the teacher.
- Really loves the teacher and is very inspired with what the teacher is saying.
- Is motivated by the teacher, and goes further than ever before!
- Is not listening to a word the teacher says except for "CHANGE."
- Just has a breakthrough in Standing bow, Rabbit pose, and finally figured out how to finally do TRIANGLE Properly!
- Hates TRIANGLE pose so much that they are gritting their teeth and are ready to go agro on that dumb ass pose.
- Enjoys TRIANGLE pose so much and is able to breathe gently.
- Is noticing that they sweat so much they could sink the continent with the pools of water coming from their armpits.
- Does not even notice the sweat anymore.
- Is staying connected to their yoga practice.
- Is zoning out through their whole yoga practice.
- Is enlightened.
- Is in complete peace.
- Has a smile in their heart.
- Is holding back.
- Is breaking free.
- Has a body part that hurts.
- Is energized.
- Is tired.
- Is exhausted.
- Has fallen asleep for a moment.
- Is FINALLY AWAKE. For maybe the first time in their life.
SO - Which of these yoga students are you?
In the past year, I have been every single one of those yoga students while practicing.
We are all connected through our experience.
It is all part of the journey. How you choose to respond to the journey and experience is what makes us different.
Peace
Andrea
