Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; for it becomes your destiny. -- Upanishads

Yoga is... Yoga is awareness. From practicing yoga, one becomes more aware of one’s body, one’s being, and one’s presence. The person would also become more aware of the physical surroundings, the air, the senses, and the presence of others. Yoga is the union of achieving mind-body-soul connections. These 3 aspects are focused and being present when practicing yoga. The emphasis on these 3 aspects brings out the awareness of the practitioner. Yoga is a non-judgmental practice. Every individual incorporates his/her own physical limits, own values and own personal experiences. The practice is very personal. Yoga teachers are there to guide, but not to dictate a practice. Yoga is also about physical training. When practicing yoga, physical strength, flexibilities, and cardiovascular strength would be enhanced. Yoga is a life-long journey. It can be practiced and applied to every aspect of life and to every stage in life. It becomes a habit or a skill that one may acquire in daily activities throughout one’s life. Yoga originates in ancient India. The tradition of yoga is well-treasured, preserved, respected and appreciated. However, everyone would have to integrate the practice in his/her own way according to every individual modern body. Yoga is a very unique concept and yoga is for you!!!
